Kahn Kriegel, Ms. Lisa
Social Worker & Activities Coordinator
Lisa Kahn Kriegel, LMSW, MA, began working at WHHS in the spring of 2022. She immediately fell in love with the school’s incredible student body, its talented teachers, and the gorgeous campus. A social worker with extensive experience in working with children, adolescents, and adults, Lisa enjoys talking to students who may be struggling with a challenging social situation, a mental health concern, or who just need a few minutes of down-time with a trusted adult. Lisa has also taken on the role of planning educational and psychoeducational programs at WHHS. She is always looking for new ways to enhance student life at school, while also empowering students to come up with their own ideas and put them into action.
Prior to arriving at WHHS, Lisa served as the Director of the Child Welfare Policy Initiative at the Westchester Institute for Human Development (WIHD) for 15 years. There, she provided therapeutic services to children and families in the foster care system and developed an award-winning online policy manual for Westchester County. She received her Master’s in Social Work from NYU and a Master’s degree in Child Development from Sarah Lawrence College. Lisa has sat on the Executive Committee of the Westchester Children’s Association, a century-old advocacy organization fighting for the rights of vulnerable youth in the County. She has also worked for the Anti-Defamation League and the Auschwitz Jewish Center Foundation. Lisa has three children and resides in White Plains, NY, with her husband.
