Merel, Mr. David

STEAM Coordinator

David Merel brings a wealth of experience from both the technology industry and education sector. As founder and CEO of ThinkBright LLC, a Voice-Over IP company he has led for two decades, David continues to innovate in the tech space and in STEAM education and the academic world.

At WHHS, Mr. Merel renovated and established the new STEAM lab, providing students with a state-of-the-art facility to explore engineering and technology. He is also the coach of our robotics team, which proudly became the 2023-2024 champions under his guidance.

In addition to his work at WHHS, David volunteers weekly with iShine, an afterschool program for children living with illness or loss in their families. At iShine, David engages the kids in 3D printing and robot building, offering them both educational enrichment and a creative outlet in a supportive environment.

David is committed to improving technological infrastructure, security, and STEAM education in local schools. He also runs a YouTube channel called *Captain Creativity* dedicated to showcasing STEM products and services that support makers and educators. The proceeds from the channel are used to purchase printers, robotic kits, and other STEM resources for community schools.
